ခ်င္းမုိင္ (မဇၥ်ိမ)။ ။ မေလးရွားရွိ လူဝင္မႈၾကီးၾကပ္ေရးဌာန ထိန္းသိမ္းေရး စခန္းမ်ားတြင္ က်န္းမာေရးဆိုင္ရာ ပံုမွန္ ကာကြယ္ကုသ စစ္ေဆးမႈမ်ား ျပဳလုပ္ရန္ အေရးေပၚ လိုအပ္ေနေၾကာင္း မေလးရွားအေျခစိုက္ ေရႊ႔ေျပာင္း အလုပ္သမားမ်ားအေရး ေဆာင္ရြက္ေနသည့္ ပူးတြဲအဖြဲ႔တခုက ယေန႔ေျပာသည္။ Juru လူဝင္မႈ ၾကီးၾကပ္ေရးဌာန၏ တရားမဝင္ ဝင္ေရာက္လာသူမ်ားကို ထိန္းသိမ္းေသာ စခန္း၌ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံသား ၂ ဦး ေသဆံုးခဲ့မႈအေပၚ အေျခခံ၍ ပူးတြဲအဖြဲ႔ Network of Action for Migrant in Malaysia (NAMM) က ေျပာဆိုျခင္း ျဖစ္သည္။ “Human Rights Commission of Malaysia အေနနဲ႔ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံသား ႏွစ္ဦး ေသဆံုးရတဲ့ကိစၥနဲ႔ ပတ္သက္လို႔ တရားဝင္ စံုစမ္း စစ္ေဆးမႈေတြ လုပ္ၿပီး ခိုင္မာတဲ့ ရလဒ္ေတြ ထုတ္ျပန္ေပးရမယ္။ ၿပီးေတာ့ ထိန္းသိမ္းေရးစခန္း အားလံုးရဲ႕ သန္ရွင္းေရးနဲ႔ က်န္းမာ ေရးေစာင့္ေရွာက္မႈ ပိုၿပီး ေကာင္းမြန္လာဖို႔အတြက္ အေထာက္အကူ ျဖစ္ေစမယ့္ ေတာင္းဆို အၾကံျပဳခ်က္ေတြ ထုတ္ေပးဖို႔ လိုအပ္ပါတယ္” ဟု MAMM ၏ ဆက္သြယ္ ေဆာင္ရြက္ေရး တာဝန္ရွိသူ မစၥ ပရာႏြမ္ ဆြမ္ေဝါင္ Pranom Somwong က မဇၥ်ိမကို ေျပာသည္။ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံသား အနည္းဆံုး ၅၀၀ ခန္႔ကို ထိန္းသိမ္းထားသည့္ အဆိုပါ စခန္းအတြင္း တိရစၦာန္ အညစ္အေၾကးမွ ျဖစ္ပြားတတ္သည့္ Leptospirosis ဗိုင္းရပ္စ္ပိုးေၾကာင့္ ယခုလ ၁၂ ရက္ႏွင့္ ၁၇ တို႔တြင္ Thang Hoih Ping (၂၁ ႏွစ္) ႏွင့္ Sa La Hin (၂၆ ႏွစ္) တို႔ ေသဆံုးခဲ့သည္။ ယင္းကိစၥႏွင့္ ပတ္သက္၍ ျမန္မာအေရး လႈပ္ရွားေနသည့္ အဖြဲ႔အစည္းအမ်ားစု ပါဝင္ေသာ ႏိုင္ငံတကာ အဖြဲ႔အစည္းေပါင္း ၁၂၄ ဖြဲ႔၏ Global joint statement တေစာင္ကို ယမန္ေန႔က ထုတ္ျပန္ခဲ့သည္။ ထိန္းသိမ္းေရးစခန္း တာဝန္ရွိသူႏွင့္ မေလးရွားအစိုးရက ေသဆံုးသြားသူ ၂ ဦးအတြက္ ေလ်ာ္ေၾကးေငြကို ၎တို႔၏ မိသားစုဝင္မ်ားထံ လဲႊေျပာင္းေပးအပ္ေစလိုေၾကာင္း ထုတ္ျပန္ခ်က္အတြင္း အၾကံျပဳေတာင္းဆိုထားျပီး တာဝန္ရွိသူမ်ားကို ေဖာ္ထုတ္ၿပီး ဥပေဒအရ ထိုက္သင့္သည့္ အျပစ္ဒဏ္မ်ား ခ်မွတ္ေပးရမည္ ျဖစ္ေၾကာင္းလည္း ေဖာ္ျပထားေသးသည္။ ႏိုင္ငံတဝန္းရွိ ထိန္းသိမ္းေရး စခန္း ၂၂ ခုလံုး၏ သန္႔ရွင္းေရး၊ က်န္းမာေရး ေစာင့္ေရွာက္မႈတို႔ကို တိုးတက္ ေကာင္းမြန္ေစေရး ေဆာင္ရြက္ေပးရန္ မေလးရွားအစိုးရ အပါအဝင္၊ ျပည္သူ႔ က်န္းမာေရးဌာန၊ လူဝင္မႈ ၾကီးၾကပ္ေရးဌာန၊ ျပည္ထဲေရးဌာနသို႔လည္း တရားဝင္ စာပို႔ေတာင္းဆိုထားေၾကာင္း အဆိုပါ အဖြဲ႔အစည္း ၁၂၄ ဖြဲ႔၏ ေျပာခြင့္ရ ပုဂၢိဳလ္လည္းျဖစ္သူ မစၥ ပရာႏြမ္ ဆြမ္ေဝါင္က ေျပာသည္။ ထို႔အျပင္ လက္နက္ကိုင္ ျပည္သူ႔စစ္ပံုစံ ဖြဲ႔စည္းထားေသာ RELA အဖြဲ႔သည္ အဆိုပါ လူဝင္မႈၾကီးၾကပ္ေရးဌာန ထိန္းသိမ္းစခန္းမ်ားတြင္ အစိုးရ ဆံုးျဖတ္ခ်က္မ်ားျဖင့္ ရဲတပ္သားမ်ားထက္ ပို၍ပင္ လုပ္ပိုင္ခြင့္မ်ား အျပည့္ရထားၿပီး မသကၤာသူ မည္သူ႔ကိုမဆို အခ်ိန္မေရြး ရွာေဖြဖမ္းဆီး ထိန္းသိမ္းႏိုင္ခြင့္ ရွိေသာ္လည္း စနစ္တက် သင္တန္းတက္ထားသူမ်ား မဟုတ္ေၾကာင္း သူက ေျပာသည္။ ထိန္းသိမ္းေရး စခန္းမ်ားတြင္ ေကြ်းေမြးေသာ အစားအစာႏွင့္ ေသာက္သံုးေရမ်ား၏ သန္႔ရွင္းမႈႏွင့္ အႏၲရာယ္ ရွိ၊ မရွိကိုလည္း က်န္းမာေရးဌာနက ပံုမွန္ၾကီးၾကပ္ စစ္ေဆးမႈမ်ား ျပဳလုပ္ရန္ ႏိုင္ငံတကာ အဖြဲ႔အစည္း ၁၂၄ ဖြဲ႔၏ ယမန္ေန႔ ပူးတြဲ ထုတ္ျပန္ခ်က္ အတြင္း၌ ေတာင္းဆိုထားသည္။ ၿပီးခဲ့သည့္ ၆ ႏွစ္အတြင္း မေလးရွား ထိန္းသိမ္းေရး စခန္းမ်ားတြင္ ေသဆံုးခဲ့သူ တရားမဝင္ ႏိုင္ငံျခားသား ဦးေရ ၁၃၀၀ ရွိေၾကာင္းႏွင့္ အမ်ားစုမွာ လူဝင္မႈ ၾကီးၾကပ္ေရးဌာန ထိန္းသိမ္းေရး စခန္းမ်ားတြင္ ျဖစ္ေၾကာင္း မေလးရွား လူ႔အခြင့္အေရး ေကာ္မရွင္ Human Rights Commission of Malaysia - Suhakam ၏ အၾကီးအကဲ Datuk N. Malaysian churches call to free Aung San Suu Kyi

The Council of Churches of Malaysia joins churches around the world in strongly condemning the arrest and trumped-up trial of the Nobel Prize Laureate, Aung San Suu Kyi by the military government of Myanmar.

Freedom has been denied her and the people of Myanmar as she has become the victim of political repression. The trial in court is meant to meet out a judgement that will extend her house arrest for many more years and bar her from meaningful participation in the forth coming elections.

Aung San Suu Kyi is a symbol of courage and hope for the people of Myanmar and for the rest of the world. She is an ambassador of passive resistance for democratic change.

Therefore, we urge Asean countries, and most especially our government and the rest of the international community to exert pressure on the military government to release Aung San Suu Kyi unconditionally and to restore democracy in the country.

We stand in solidarity and prayer with the people of Myanmar who are striving with great faith and hope to be able to live as a democratic and peaceful nation.

KNO CALLS ON UN SECURITY COUNCIL TO SECURE THE RELEASE OF
DAW AUNG SAN SUU KYI
The Kachin National Organization today called on the United Nations (UN) Security Council to secure the release of Nobel Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi, currently held in Insein Prison. She was moved from her home, where she has spent 13 years under house arrest, to the infamous Insein Prison earlier on 14 May 2009, and put on trial for breaking the terms of her house arrest.

The UN Security Council should not just stand by and allow this inhumane act to be perpetrated by the military regime of Burma. Urgent actions are required as the decades-long crying voices and suffering of the people of Burma are loud enough to be heard.

The Military regime has no intention of bringing peace and stability while it enforces its 7 step roadmap towards further militarilization and by crushing all opposition and putting pressure on the ethnic
ceasefire groups to surrender without any political dialogue.

We again urge the UN Security Council to stand up for justice and to protest on behalf of the people of Burma by bringing General Than Shwe, a brutal dictator, to the International Criminal Court.

Myanmar children write book to help their countrymen

WE CAN send water to Myanmar through a very long pipe!” a Myanmar boy living in Malaysia suggested when he heard that his home country was devastated by Cyclone Nargis.

Despite their difficult circumstances, his classmates at the refugee school agreed enthusiastically, and immediately pledged to write letters of encouragement, save 10 sen every day and pray for the victims.

In the end, the group of about 60 Kachin children decided to raise funds through their very own book, titled My Beautiful Myanmar, that reflected their experiences.

Reaching out: `My Beautiful Myanmar’ comprises touching stories and drawings by Myanmar children in Malaysia who want to help Cyclone Nargis victims. The books are available at Borders outlets.

The refugee children worked tirelessly over the next two weeks to tell of their dreams and hopes through stories and drawings. They related the tumultuous experiences of their families, and painted pictures of the country they wished to see when they eventually returned home.

The project has so far raised RM25,000, which was presented to World Vision on Tuesday last week at the Jungle Gym and Roller Sports World in Bangsar Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

The children were treated to games and entertainment at the centre. Project coordinator and volunteer teacher Belle Luer, Miss Malaysia/World and World Vision ambassador Deborah Henry as well as World Vision Malaysia chief executive officer Liew Tong Ngan were on hand to celebrate the achievement with the children.

We did it!: The Myanmar children proudly showing off their book `My Beautiful Myanmar’, produced to raise funds for Cyclone Nargis survivors in Myanmar.

“We are deeply touched by this generous donation. It is quite extraordinary to see young children like these coming together to help their own people. I think this is the first time World Vision has received such a large contribution from an underprivileged group,” Liew said.

The donation was made in conjunction with the first anniversary of Cyclone Nargis that claimed almost 150,000 lives, and will be used for World Vision’s rebuilding efforts and Temporary Shelter Project in the poverty-stricken country.

Luer said the books were initially sold through volunteers until Borders Bookstore offered to distribute them.

“We’re hoping to raise RM100,000 and have promised the children a beach trip if we meet our target,” she said.

The book is available at Borders outlets at The Curve in Petaling Jaya, The Gardens and Berjaya Times Square in Kuala Lumpur, and Queensbay Mall in Penang. For details on the book and refugee school, write to my.beautiful.myanmar@gmail.com.
